Telehealth sessions are performed on a secure network. We ask that the individual meeting is in a safe space, wears headphones, and if needed uses sound machines to be able to have a sense of security while meeting online. Your therapist will also use measures to ensure privacy while meeting. A link will be sent for you to visit, which you will click on to begin the session. Virtual sessions tend to look similar to Zoom meetings, you will both be able to see each other’s faces on the screen. You will then meet for a full session similarly to how you meet in person.

The first appointment is a time for you to decide if we are a good fit for you. You will be asked a variety of questions. Some may be be regarding what it is you are currently going through, what your expectations are for therapy, what has been helpful in the past for you, ect.. We will spend this time exploring what you need in therapy, and how we can help you. There will be time for you to ask any questions you may have.

We believe therapy is effective for every human being. We also understand that it is a difficult and sometimes scary decision to make. Some clues that it may be helpful to see a therapist may include some of the following: if you’re noticing a want to have a space to work through a difficult experience you are currently going through, or have gone through. If you notice that your relationships to those you care about are feeling strained, or it’s difficult to communicate your needs in ways you feel heard. Are you having a hard time with school, work, or other commitments in your life because you’re distracted, unable to complete tasks, or finding little satisfaction in life? Are you looking for coping skills to help cope with your current difficulties? These may all be clues that seeing a therapist will help. Trust your gut, if you’re questioning if seeing a therapist would be beneficial, you are probably right.

Therapy is different for everyone. There is no deadline where we can say with certainty a person will be finished with therapy. It all depends on what the person is needing, and when they have achieved their goals. This is a discussion we can have with you at the first appointment to discuss how long treatment may look like.

A Good Faith Estimate or GFE is for individuals who are choosing to pay for services rendered out of pocket. This estimate provides a list of services, their fees, and what you can anticipate for estimated costs for treatment in a year. If you are choosing to pay out of pocket, you will receive a GFE prior to the first appointment.
Standard Notice: “Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” Under the No Surprises Act
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
