Lindsey Anderson
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Therapist
-
I work with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and life stressors and transitions. I also work with older adults who are experiencing late and end of life transitions and concerns.

My approach to therapy is client-centered and uses a humanistic lens drawing upon person-in-environment theory. I offer a supportive space to talk through life's challenges and practice coping skills when life throws you curveballs. I believe that you are at the center of your experience, and you are the expert of your own life. I also believe that you are impacted by your environment and my role as a therapist is to walk alongside you in your journey, providing resources and serving as a sounding board as you work towards your self-identified goals.

I have nearly a decade of social work experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with my Masters in Social Work and completed over 3,000 hours of supervised clinical practice to obtain my clinical license. I have worked in early childhood settings, with adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and within the emergency department.
My background is rooted within crisis intervention and the cognitive behavioral approach. I’ll work with you to identify negative or incorrect thought patterns and work to develop problem-solving and coping skills that you can use when facing different stressors and challenges in life. I am also currently working towards my PhD in Social Work and my research focuses on enhancing professional well-being and cultivating joy within the social work profession. I have taught at Texas State University since 2018 and enjoy working with social work students as they prepare to complete their practicum and emerge as professional social workers entering the profession.
